What it's about...

Fusion Kitchen is a feel-good community TV series where food, stories, and cultures come together around one table. In each of the six episodes, you’ll meet six people – three working chefs and three  cooking enthusiasts – living in Ireland. Alongside Linda from Meath’s sea coast town of Laytown, are Mykola, assisted by partner Viktoria from Ukraine, who have established Ireland’s first Ukrainian restaurant, Lucy, on Dublin’s Clanbrasil Street, Yebin from South Korea who is known as the Singing Chef at Song and Jenn’s Kitchen – the very popular Korean street food restaurant in Drogheda, family-taught cook Ivan representing his. homeland of Brazil, the ‘suya’ barbecue wizard Ken from Nigeria whose Suya Man African street food eatery on Palace Street in Drogheda is growing in fame and Jasmine, an Indian woman deeply involved in the Drogheda community, and Ireland. The six participants take turns preparing a dish from their own national cuisine and serving it up to the others at the Fusion Kitchen table.

The host and mentor for the series is celebrated Irish chef Tara Walker, known for her warm approach and deep knowledge of world flavours. Filmed in her beautiful East Coast Cookery School kitchen in Termonfeckin, Co. Louth, Tara offers gentle guidance, encouragement, and the occasional taste test as each cook shares the story behind their dish.

There’s laughter, music, the occasional spicy surprise, and plenty of heart. By the end of each episode, the group sits down together to enjoy the meal – and what started as a cooking session becomes a celebration of friendship and cultural exchange.

Meet the host
TARA WALKER

At the heart of Fusion Kitchen is renowned Irish chef, author, and TV personality Tara Walker. Trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, Tara brings a wealth of culinary expertise and a passion for teaching to the series. She is the founder of the East Coast Cookery School in Termonfeckin, Co. Louth, where the show is filmed in her purpose-built kitchen.

In each episode, she offers guidance, shares tips, and fosters a welcoming environment where cultural stories and flavours are celebrated. Her enthusiasm and warmth help turn each cooking session into a shared journey of discovery and connection.

Meet the participants

The Fusion Kitchen participants are a mix of professional chefs and hobbyist cooking enthusiasts from six different cultural backgrounds among those that make up our modern Irish family.  Ivan has had no formal training in cooking but learned from his family, growing up in Brasil. His day job is in a language school. Jasmine, representing India, is former chairperson of multicultural support organisation Hands4Unity and Vice President of Drogheda and District Chamber.  It took almost two decades for Ken’s dream of opening Suya Man – a Nigerian BBQ eatery in Drogheda – to become a reality. While she works in admin, cooking is a passion for Linda, who is a strong advocate of local, seasonal and sustainable food. She’s flyin the flag for Ireland.  Miko and Viktoria are the couple behind the first Ukrainian restaurant in Ireland, Lucy on Dublin’s Clanbrasil Street. It’s named after Miko’s granny.  A trip to Ireland from his homeland of South Korea 10 years ago impressed Yebin so much that he jumped at the chance to return as chef in Song & Jenn’s Kitchen, Drogheda. You’ll get a chance to see each of these participants cook dishes from their homelands alongside Tara Walker, as well as showing some small element of their culture to the rest of the group.
